The Hunt for Trolls at the Morton Arboretum
The Morton Arboretum has made it possible for you to be a real life troll hunter, albeit hunt wooden trolls 15-30 feet tall. The hunt includes finding all 6 trolls either by foot or by driving to the nearest parking lot near each of the troll statues. We chose the former and walked a total of 10 miles to reach all six trolls. IT WORE US OUT!
Where is the Morton Arboretum?
The Morton Arboretum is located in Lisle, IL just a short drive west of Chicago.
How Do You Sign Up and Reach The Trolls
The hunt itself is free but you do have to pay for parking and sign up for a parking time slot, which you can do directly on the site. Once inside, you are free to roam and take your time finding the trolls. The park does offer a map that highlights each troll’s location to help you find all 6 in a reasonable amount of time.

My Thoughts On The Trolls
The trolls are true works of art and the level of detail on each one is impressive. Every trolls is doing something silly or cute, like the one (bottom left) looking at traffic on the freeway or the one (middle bottom) waiting to catch his next feast. While you are able to get near each wooden statue, the park has added small fences around the trolls to prevent people from climbing them and potentially damaging one of the figures. I highly suggest you pay them a visit if you’re in the area. It’s fun for the entire family!
